Who We Are –The Evolution of Live Sound
We are a collective of live sound industry humans—engineers, techs, roadies, innovators, and storytellers—brought together by a shared mission: to document and preserve the rich, untold history of live sound before it's lost to time.
Much of our industry’s history exists only in fragments—fleeting mentions in trade magazines, backstage anecdotes, hand-sketched designs, or memories passed from one tour to the next. And as some of those publications disappear, and analog memories fade, so too does our collective story.

What’s currently documented often captures only snapshots—specific events, big-name tours, or one-off innovations. But behind every great show was a crew, a system, a challenge, and a breakthrough. We believe all of it matters.
The Evolution of Live Sound was created to change that. We're building a central hub—a living archive—for the people, gear, moments, and milestones that shaped the live sound industry from its earliest days to the cutting edge of today.
This is an ambitious project, and we know we can’t do it alone. But with the help of passionate people like you—from arena mixers and monitor engineers to club techs, builders, and old-school road crews—we believe the history will follow, grow, and evolve.
We’re not just telling stories.
We’re building a legacy.
We’re building a legacy.
If you’ve lived it, worked it, or dreamed it—your voice belongs here.
Let’s preserve it. Together.
